Journalism IV

In 2016 I created my bucket list, because I found it interesting and entertaining to do. Some of the things I included in this list are to learn another language, get a tattoo with someone, have a dog, travel to another country, fall in love, visit Machu Picchu and test LSD. I want to write 100 things I must do before I die, So far I have written fifty-four and have turned seventeen, including getting a tattoo with my best friend, traveling to another country, falling in love and trying LSD. Most of the activities I have listed on me bucket list I would like to make them with my friends, my family or my girlfriend. When I get my journalist degree I would like to do postgraduate studies at the Alberto Hurtado University. I want to take a Diploma in Nonfiction Narrative Writing, this postgraduate delivers advanced tools for nonfiction narrative writing, such as biographies, journalistic reports, essays and chronicle. This course interests me a lot since it would serve me for what I want to do the rest of my life, write nonfiction narrative texts. This postgraduate course is held in Santiago de Chile, although I have not ruled out taking another course outside the country because it must be a very enriching experience, knowing other cultures for as long as I keep studying but I have not investigated the courses that exist abroad. I would love to work in an independent media. When I went to school and started my love for journalism I wanted to work in a newspaper however, now, after studying this profession for four years and being closer to obtaining the degree I think that working in a newspaper where labor exploitation is too much is not what I want for my life.  I would like to work in a communication medium where deep reports are written and not daily news.  I imagine it as an intense work because of the emotional burdens that the researched stories carry but gratifying for the same reason. I think this work will be a mix between writing in an office and going outside to investigate so I hope to have the possibility to travel. I would also like to complement this work by dedicating myself to do classes at the university in the future because I like and are very interested in teaching and the salary is not as low as in traditional journalism. When I was little I liked to read text-books for school and books of every type but when I entered this university, I stopped having time and my desire to read was gone. For this reason I read my favorite book when I was in school and is entitled “Cien años de soledad” or  “One Hundred Years of Solitude”  by the Colombian writer Gabriel García Márquez. I have two favorite writers. Gabriel García Márquez is one of them, he was also a journalist and won the Nobel Prize for literature. J.K rowling is another one of my favorite writers for sentimental reasons because with Harry Potter I learned to love books. I also value her history of effort because she began writing the story of Harry Potter on a coffee shop napkin and is currently known worldwide. I don't know if I could classify the books I like, but I like when they make me think about a specific topic, for example "A happy world", “1984” and “Blindness” are dystopian books that produce reflections on today...

My favorite tv series is Skins. This tv serie describes the everyday life of a group of adolescents in Bristol, UK. Skins is my favorite tv series because I start watching when I was a teenager and felt identified with characters and their problems. My favorite characters of Skins is Emily because has the same name that I and she is also lesbian. Skins has two versions, the british and the U.S version but the best is the british one, in fact the Skins U.S was canceled after one season by contrast Skins U.K had seven season and two books about the holidays of the characters. I would like to watch kind of series with characters that interesting lives or it’s about social conflicts. Some of my favorite tv series are Orphan Black, Sense8 and Orange is the New Black. At 2018 I traveled to Brazil and was the best holidays of my life. It was my first time travelling by plane and to another country. My best friend and I traveled to Brazil during summer vacations for two weeks. In this country we visited many tourist places like Ilha Grande, Copacabana, Christ the Redeemer, Angra dos Reis, Sugar Loaf and Selaron Steps. In Brazil we tasted new food like feijoada, farofa, coconut water and guava. We visit many beaches that were very different from Chilean beaches because the water was´t cold and had sea turtles.  Brazil is very interesting and different to our country because there they have a tropical weather, one day there was a powerful electric storm but was very hot. This was the best holidays summer holidays of my life because it was my first trip abroad and without my family also I really enjoyed. I would love to go to Brazil again because it is a very big country and think that knowing it take a long time.

I would like to go to Marruecos, specifically to Chefchaouen because it is a beautiful city, historically recognize for having houses painted of blue and my favourite color ir blue. I like the color blue. All my clothes are blue and my dream is take a photograph in this place.  I know very little about this country. Many locals also speak Spanish and that is advantage because i dont speak fluent English.    This is a place is very chauvinist where women have few political and social rigths. Marruecos is a Muslim country therefore I should like to go holidays to Chefchaouen for only a short time, because I would not like to live in a country so different and extremely chauvinist. When I will be there I will take a lot pictures around the city and write about local customs. I would also like to visit its beaches and historical monuments for example La Medina and Casba. I hope make our dream to travel there.
